The Game (2023). Interactive Installation. Instant Modernism exhibition, AM Qattan Foundation – Ramallah.
Turning the archive into material for play and imagination, as a source of social imagination and fiction, instead of a source of any truth about the past demonstrates an alternative use of the archive. In the game, there are 256 possibilities to form the picture. Each time the player forms an image, a deformed variation is forced on the opposite side. Imagination rules this game. The ‘original’ image becomes unknown and irrevelant. Each image that is formed has some truth to it, even if it is not factual.
